Today I was thinking of good fundraisers for the Ghana Health & Education Initiative (the organization I held an internship with when I went to Africa during the Spring). I was thinking, "hey, why don't I bust out mad purses/shirts/dresses/hats/totes...etc and auction them?" Then, I thought, "why don't I auction the things off at a fashion show, where I could charge a cover fee and sell food?"

So there became my fabulous idea to have a Benefit Fashion Show. I'm going to produce and produce and produce for the rest of the summer and plan the show for Winter Break when a bunch of people are home from college. Luckily, I have a facebook, and they have a thing that you can invite all these people to random events. I think myspace has one too, but I don't have a myspace, so I'll have someone promote it for me. I'm looking for other designers, too, because I'd feel weird being the only one showcasing their clothes/couture. I want to do it some place cool, but I definitely don't have the money to rent out someplace extravagant. I think I remember someone telling me that the Long Beach Island Foundation for the Arts & Sciences is pretty good... but in the winter, I dunno. Plus, I don't know if I'd get a good turn out if people have to drive out an hour. Any ideas on where I could do it?
